Member Care

What is it? Church members with physical, relational, or prayer needs can reach out to their community group leader, campus pastor, or ministry coordinator to have their need placed in the CarePortal system, which allows other church members who attend their campus to respond to and meet the need of people in their congregation. This is the body building the body.

How can you get involved? Do you have a heart for those in need around you? For the hurting around you? Are you willing to give of your time (prayer, friendship)? Have you been blessed financially and are able to meet monetary needs of others? If so, church members who want to be aware of member needs simply sign up to be on their campus’s response team by visiting our CarePortal and selecting their campus and following the prompts. Requests are sent out via email as well as being listed on each campus’s CarePortal church page.

Neighbor Care

What is it? Church members can advocate for a friend or neighbor who does not attend the church but has a physical, relational, or prayer need by reaching out to their community group leader, campus pastor, or ministry coordinator at the campus they attend. The church member will be asked to write a story up in advocacy for their friend and it will be uploaded into the campus’s CarePortal system that the member attends. The member will hold the responsibility of communicating this process and updates with their friend. This is the body showing up for the hurting that we have connections with.

Have you been blessed financially and are able to meet monetary needs of church members and those close within their circle of influence? If so, church members who want to be aware of neighbor care needs simply sign up to be on their campus’s response team by going to the BattleCreek CarePortal and selecting their campus and following the prompts. Requests are sent out via email as well as being listed on each campus’s CarePortal church page.

Community Care

What is it? Through CarePortal, people on the BattleCreek response team are also able to see community needs that are vetted and entered by social workers at DHS. When responding to a community need, you are directly connected with the social worker who entered the need and receive next steps in how to meet the need. This often involves meeting the family to deliver the need and encourages relational interaction with those in our community who need support. This is the body running after the hurting and lost.

Foster & Adoption Care

What is it? BattleCreek Church cares about our foster and adopted community and supports families that are currently fostering and/or adopting and families that are interested in learning more. BattleCreek offers Adopt(ed) classes, a four part series of classes once a year that offers insight into domestic, international, and DHS adoptions. These classes provide education, support, and an open Q & A. BattleCreek Church partners with Legacy Family Network and together provide trainings throughout the year where foster and adoptive families can receive their required training and find support all while their children are taken care of in our interactive childcare. This is the body caring for widows, fatherless, and orphans.

How can you get involved? Are you a current foster or adoptive parent? Are you interested in becoming a foster or adoptive parent? Are you interested in respite care for foster families? Do you want to support foster and adoptive familes? If so, click here to email us with your interest and join the Facebook Adopot(ed) page.
